Who Are They?

Mecca's
largest residential project.

Built in partnership with the Saudi Ministry of Housing, RETAJ is the largest residential project in Mecca — developed by Al Khomasiah Real Estate.

The Challenge

A name with
meaning.

Our client asked for a comprehensive branding plan along with a strong and distinctive Arabic name for the project — understandable to Saudi citizens, and ideally drawn from the Holy Quran.

At the same time, they sought a modern name that had never been used in Mecca, while in parallel creating a logo typeface that expresses Islamic values and represents the country's culture.

The Solution

An Islamic
typeface, drawn by hand.

We crafted a custom Arabic typeface inspired by classical Islamic calligraphy — modern in proportion, but rooted in the visual language of the Holy City.

The result is a wordmark that reads as confidently in a brochure as it does on a building façade — a name that belongs in Mecca.
